Culhane Meadows 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan

The firm offers a 401(k) retirement savings plan through Voya Financial,™ and you are eligible for enrollment as soon as you join the firm. For details about Voya’s technology demos and websites, click here. If you wish to enroll in the 401(k) plan, please call the Customer Service Center at 800-584-6001.  You may also go to the Enrollment Center Website, at enroll.voya.com.  When you arrive on the landing page, you will need to put in the plan number, which is 815177, and the verification code, which is 81517799.  Once you have registered with Voya, click here for instructions on how to access your account both online and via phone. Please note that there is a $500 administration fee once you register for the 401(k), along with a nominal annual fee to cover ongoing accounting and processing costs (and the annual fee will be calculated each year based on the total number of participants in the 401(k)).

You will need to let Accounting know at least five business days prior to the draw date if you wish to make a one-time contribution to your 401(k) from your draw payment. You can also set up with Accounting an automatic deduction for your 401(k) for each draw payment based on a percentage of income or fixed amount.  The amounts you list on the Voya website are for your budgeting purposes only and not used by Accounting.

As of the 2019 tax year, you can contribute the following as a participant in the firm’s 401(k) plan:

  • Maximum “deferral” portion of your contribution of $19,000.
  • Catch-up contribution of $6,000 if you are over 50 years of age for a total of $25,000.
  • “Self-match” portion of your contribution of 4% of your compensation from Culhane Meadows, up to maximum compensation of $280,000. So, if you made over $280,000 (after subtracting business expenses and self-employment taxes) and wanted to max out, you could add another $11,200.

So, someone over 50 with more than $280,000 in compensation (after subtracting business expenses and self-employment taxes) could invest up to a total amount of $36,200.  If you are under 50 with more than $275,000 in compensation (after subtracting business expenses and self-employment taxes), you could invest up to a total amount of $30,200.

If you have any further questions about the 401(k) offering, including rolling over any previous 401(k) or IRA, please reach out to Voya at the number or email shown above.  You may also find answers to your questions on our list of 401(k) Frequently Asked Questions, which are current as of January 2017.
