Culhane Meadows’ co-founder James Meadows was recently interviewed by Forbes for an article about whether the pandemic means the end of office space.
Here are excerpts from Jim’s interview:
When Salesforce announced it was acquiring workplace communications company Slack for $27.7 billion, it was not for the profits. In the fiscal year ending January 2020, the company lost $568.4 million on gross sales of $630.4 million; between February and October 2020, the net loss was $212.3 million on $652 million.
Yet with an eye to the future, Slack presented “an opportunity to change how the front office and knowledge workers collaborate,” said Jason Wong, VP-Analyst at Gartner.

“My clients were Fortune 100 companies and they never came to my office,” Meadows said. “It caused me to think, does a practice such as mine really need an office?”
