Litigators Jeff Crouch and Grant Walsh Obtain Two Significant Defense Victories in Texas Courts

Culhane Meadows’ litigation practice group recently obtained significant victories in two unrelated lawsuits in Texas courts.

headshot_crouch-jeff Jeff Crouch, Partner and Chair of the firm’s litigation practice group, recently obtained a significant victory on behalf of a Culhane Meadows client in a multi-million dollar banking litigation matter.  After months of discovery involving multiple depositions, and working closely with co-defense counsel, Crouch obtained summary judgment on all claims alleged against the client, which included fraud and negligent misrepresentation.  By doing so, Crouch was able to help the client avoid liability for what were alleged to be damages in excess of $50 million.  “Summary judgments can be hard to come by in Texas courts, so we viewed this as a great result for our client,” Crouch said.

headshot_walsh-grantGrant Walsh, Co-Founder of Culhane Meadows and another member of the litigation practice group, obtained a summary judgment victory on behalf of a franchising client in a separate proceeding. In that case, the plaintiff brought allegations of fraud, breach of contract, tortious interference, civil conspiracy and unjust enrichment regarding a territorial dispute within a national franchise chain. After nearly 14 months of litigation, numerous hearings, multiple depositions and volumes of discovery, Walsh’s contested motion for a complete defense judgment was granted by the court.

“We are very proud of the fantastic work Jeff and Grant provided to our clients in both of these cases,” said Co-Founder Kelly Rittenberry Culhane. “These victories are a direct result of the hard work and effective defense strategies developed by our outstanding litigation team.”
