Christopher Giles, Mishell Kneeland, David Leffler, and Jorge Salva Join Rapidly-Expanding, Cloud-Based Law Firm “Disrupting” Conventional Law Firm Business Model

NEW YORK, NY (April 19, 2017) — Culhane Meadows, one of the country’s fastest-growing, cloud-based national law firms has added four new partners to the New York City office’s litigation, corporate, and intellectual property practices. Christopher Giles, Mishell Kneeland, David Leffler, and Jorge Salva join eight other partners in the firm’s rapidly-expanding office.

Christopher Giles (cgiles@culhane.law) began his law career in Kyiv, Ukraine practicing first at Grischenko & Partners, Frishberg & Partners, and then with Asters Law firm, the Ukraine’s largest law firm and one of the top firms in Russia that works closely with clients of Am Law 100 firms doing business in Russia. At Culhane Meadows, his international practice focuses on Eastern European matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, private equity, international investment, and dispute resolution. Domestically, he focuses on real estate investments and transactions, as well as representing small- to mid-cap companies in general corporate matters. Christopher earned his B.S. in Russian from Georgetown University, followed by a Masters in Russian Studies from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. He received his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law and his LL.M. from University of Notre Dame Law School.

Mishell Kneeland (mkneeland@culhane.law) began her career at Dechert Price & Rhoads in New York City, followed by public service roles as Assistant Attorney General in the General Litigation Division for the State of Texas and as an Assistant City Attorney in General Litigation for the City of Austin. She is an experienced trial lawyer who has tried numerous cases to verdict, including employment discrimination, commercial mortgage-backed securities litigation and the defense of public statutes and policies. Following a return to private practice, her clients include large financial institutions, state and local governments, and small and medium businesses. Mishell received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated cum laude, and her J.D, from Georgetown University Law Center, where she also graduated cum laude.

David Leffler (dleffler@culhane.law) has guided entrepreneurs and small businesses through some of the most critical moments in their business operations. He works with companies across a variety of industries, with a special expertise in web-based businesses. In addition, he serves on advisory boards and has volunteered for a host of organizations, including the American Woman’s Economic Development Corporation, and served as a judge for the New York StartUP! Business Plan Competition held at the New York Public Library’s Science, Industry, and Business facility and sponsored by the Citi Foundation. David received his B.A. from City College of New York, and his J.D. from Benjamin Cardozo School of Law.

Jorge R. Salva (jsalva@culhane.law) began his law career in the corporate practice group at Paul Hastings. Prior to law school, he worked as a financial analyst for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Jorge currently serves as outside general counsel to entrepreneurs, family businesses, early-stage, and mature closely-held companies across such industries as IT consulting, pharmacies, chiropractic, urgent-care centers, manufacturing, retail, wholesale distribution, franchising, and such licensed professionals as architects, accountants, and independent financial advisors. For more than a decade, Jorge represented Fortune 500 companies, middle-market firms, global insurers, and bankruptcy trustees in complex commercial disputes involving breach of contract, civil fraud, tortious interference, corporate governance, shareholder-derivative suits, debtor-creditor law, restrictive covenants and non-competes, unfair competition, trade secret misappropriation, employer-side FLSA wage and hour claims, bankruptcy litigation in connection with the Bernard Madoff Ponzi scheme, and first party commercial insurance coverage claims arising out of Hurricane Katrina. Jorge received his B.A. in Economics from Columbia University, and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
