Peter Cassat is a seasoned corporate lawyer who focuses his practice on commercial contracts, corporate transactions, and governance and compliance matters.

Drawing from his in-house background, Peter also has broad experience in navigating employment law matters, including employment agreements, employee relations and terminations, leave administration policies and the host of other issues that employers often face in the current marketplace. In the transactional space, clients benefit from Peter’s dept of knowledge in data privacy and security law, intellectual property, and software licensing and services. He also has extensive experience in developing and implementing global enterprise compliance and risk management programs.

Peter joined Culhane Meadows after serving as General Counsel at New Country Motor Car Group, a $2 billion full-service luxury automobile dealership group with over twenty-five retail locations throughout the East. Prior to that, he was the General Counsel of Cox Automotive, Inc., an $8 billion automotive media, software, and remarketing services provider with more than 30,000 team members and operations in over 80 countries. As the chief legal officer for Cox Automotive, Peter was responsible for all of the company’s legal affairs, including managing a twenty-five-member legal department. Prior to that, he was Associate General Counsel with U.S. News & World Report.

In addition to his extensive in-house experience, Peter spent more than 15 years in private practice at Dow Lohnes and at Arnold & Porter.

Actively involved in the community, Peter is a member of the International AIDS Society–USA, a nationally recognized organization that has served for over 25 years as the leading provider of medical education and guidelines for the management of HIV and Hepatitis diseases.
