Kevin Grierson

Mr. Grierson is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and maintains a national practice focused on trademark prosecution, software licensing and patent and trademark portfolio management for businesses ranging from hi-tech startups to established Fortune 500 companies.

He assists clients in all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent and trademark prosecution, infringement analysis, domain name cybersquatting issues, and all forms of intellectual property licensing.

In addition to his intellectual property practice, Mr. Grierson assists manufacturers with Uniform Commercial Code issues and large sales transactions of multi-million dollar heavy equipment. He has also assisted in-house counsel with the day to day legal affairs of a multimillion dollar company, handling matters as diverse as supply contracts, real estate lease agreements, responses to bids, and negotiations with various government entities in permitting and licensing matters.

Awards & Recognitions

Mr. Grierson is currently recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” for Technology Law, as published in Best Lawyers in America by Woodward/White, Inc. (2015-2022). In 2022 Best Lawyers named him “Technology Lawyer of the Year” for the District of Columbia. He is active in the intellectual property community, and has previously held the following leadership positions:

• Bulletin Committee Member of the International Trademark Association

Interesting Facts
Kevin was a cheerleader in college at the University of Virginia. When not practicing law, Mr. Grierson is an avid trail runner who has completed multiple ultramarathons. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Colonial Road Runners and the Williamsburg Bar Association.  Kevin lives in Williamsburg, Virginia.
